5 Ways to Eat More Food

 

Get up earlier - by getting up earlier you can eat before the kids get up, you are not rushed and can actually tell if you’re hungry and what those hunger cues feel like. 

 

Move your body 1st thing in the morning- More movement, more energy output, will make you hungrier, hunger is like your gas light in your car when it comes on you need to refuel and same with hunger, you move more, you need more fuel just like your car!! So getting up earlier, going for a 20-40 min walk, eating breakfast, maybe even getting ready all before the kids wake up!!! 

 

Set an alarm at least every 4-5 hours - There are days where you may not feel hungry but you need to eat to fuel your body and mind. Setting an alarm will help with the “oh I forgot to eat” or “I haven’t been hungry all day” You may have been eating so little that your metabolism has down-regulated and you truly are not hungry this will help jump-start that hunger back up if you stick to it. 

 

Pay attention to hunger cues- Listen to your body take a day to really pay attention to how your body reacts to hunger. Is your stomach growling, do you get moody, do you get a headache or brain fog, do you start to feel sluggish… Once you figure out your hunger cues. Take note of when they happen and how hungry are you when they happen? So you will know when its best to eat so you can feel your best. 


Feed yourself before your kids- I mean this is probably the easiest way to eat more and to stop the “I was so busy I forgot to eat” thing us moms do. When your kids are going to eat, you eat 1ST, ugh I know you feel like you need to feed them first, but you know when you are riding in an airplane going on that amazing vaca with your fam bam, and the pilot tells you about the safety items on the plane, what do they say about the oxygen mask?... “put it on yourself first and then help others” You can’t save others if you, yourself can not breathe… Well momma you can not take care of yourself if you, yourself have no energy to do so...
